Accent Indy

Members of PCMA’s 20 in Their Twenties class of 2020 already have proven to be leaders, putting their own mark on the business events industry. Kimberly Hoffman, CMP, DMCP, director of event services at Accent Indy, a DMC Network Company in Indianapolis, shares her thoughts about the industry.

What do you like most about your job?

Accent is one of a kind — we’re an independent DMC with incredibly strong values and a tight-knit family dynamic. It’s easy to show up each day when you’re selling a city you love and services you believe in.

What do you like most about the industry?

Now more than ever, people need to connect — not with devices, but with each other. What we do connects people and gives them life experiences that they’ll carry with them for years to come. I’ve had my own share of connections and experiences over the last eight years, and am so grateful for the mentors, friends, and challenges that have shaped me as a professional and as an adult along the way.

Whats the best advice youve gotten from someone in the industry?

It’s not brain surgery — while the things we do are important, they’re not life or death. We’re here to push boundaries, try new things, and take away opportunities from them when they aren’t perfect.

Members of PCMA’s 20 in Their Twenties class of 2020 will be recognized on stage at PCMA Convening Leaders 2020, Jan. 5-8, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Check out the complete program and register for Convening Leaders today.
