SUMMARY:Flash Friday: Is Your Event Really Accessible?
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our newest PCMA ELI subscriber\, and PCMA and CEMA member-exclusive benefit\, Flash Fridays! \n“Do you have any dietary restrictions or special requests?” \nMany #eventprofs add that question to their registration form\, serve gluten free meals\, and believe we’re checking off the accessibility and inclusivity checkbox. But designing and building a truly accessible event requires thinking much deeper and more thoroughly about your room setup\, furniture\, access points\, and emergency procedures. \nNabeel Ramji\, Accessibility Advocate and Co-Founder of Pedesting will join Anh Nguyen for this casual\, lunchtime session. Diving into timely and specific topics #eventprofs care about\, Nabeel will share his experiences attending events in a wheelchair and the simple\, but overlooked\, things planners can do to ensure their event is truly wheelchair accessible. Anh and Nabeel will guide an interactive discussion and give attendees a chance to ask questions\, share their perspectives\, and learn from each other. \nTopics covered:\n– Designing registration spaces for attendees in wheelchairs\n– Emergency evacuation of attendees in wheelchairs\n– Identify spaces that are oftentimes overlooked when designing for wheelchair access \nSpecific topics\, short and sweet. Join us. \nThis meeting will use Zoom’s live transcription feature for captioning. \n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n\n \n \n [vc_btn title=”REGISTER NOW” style=”gradient-custom” gradient_custom_color_1=”#e0295d” gradient_custom_color_2=”#54a0df” shape=”round” size=”lg” align=”center” i_align=”right” i_icon_fontawesome=”fas fa-chevron-right” add_icon=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fpcma.zoom.us%2Fmeeting%2Fregister%2FtJYlf-msqjoqEtxZ04y5MQy9KKvb0wDUhWB1|target:_blank” el_class=”reg-btn”]
