PCMA APAC is piloting a series of virtual group mentoring from 2 – 4 August. Wherever you are in your career, *apply to join one of four exclusive group mentoring sessions with your preferred** mentor.

Limited spots available. Priority will be given to PCMA members.

Our mentors brings a wide repertoire of deep experience including business leadership, process and team management, creative strategy, and implementation, and more. Be inspired by their stories.

What to expect:

  • Learning and sharing from mentor and fellow mentees with group size of up to 7 mentees per mentor
  • Explore career pathways
  • Discuss challenges and opportunities at the workplace, and future of the industry
  • Share techniques on balancing mental health and wellbeing

*Successful applicants will be notified.

Yap Shook Fung

Shook Fung has been involved in conference organising and management for more than 25 years.Her career started in an independent research institute/think-tank organisation where she was involved in producing, managing and executing conferences, overseas trade missions and forums involving the Heads of Government and senior Government officials.​​ She joined the IT and telecommunications industry and later obtained her MBA.  

She later headed the country office of two international PCOs before she set up her own PCO and conference management company.  The company later merged with an international PCO company and she headed the country office before becoming the SEA regional director of the international PCO.Shook Fung was a speaker and trainer for a few convention bureaus in Asia and she is very keen in sharing her experience and passing her knowledge to the next generation of the events industry.

David Ong

David has 30 years of experience in the creative and service-oriented industry which crafted him into an extremely competitive, versatile and well-rounded professional. David has vast experience in multiple disciplines, such as, business management, event marketing, creative direction, show producing and directing, and technical consultation.

David delivered events for the likes of Huawei, Alibaba, Citibank, GE, Marriot Group and many other reputable international companies. He has been living in China for the past 13 years and has great knowledge of the local business environment and practices. He has held various senior positions in global event agencies managing many aspect of the event business. He started BOL Design in 2019 to continue his journey In providing top-notched live creative event solutions. BOL is a uniquely creative event design consultancy that believe all great events are products of great concept and design.

Deborah Caldwell
Senior Vice President

Deborah oversees a team of event planners located in five markets across the Asia Pacific region. They plan and execute a variety of client events and senior leadership meetings for the bank. Deborah was co-Head of Events, EMEA for Nomura International based in London, before being relocated to Hong Kong in 2011 to become Head of Events for Asia ex-Japan. She also held roles at Lehman Brothers in London covering EMEA events and worked for an events agency in Sydney, Australia. 

Deborah is a committee member for the Hong Kong chapter of Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Women’s network (LEAD) and is currently a mentor in the Cherie Blair Foundation Mentoring Program for 2019. Deborah is proud to be part of the PCMA Advisory Committee for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. 

Paula Rowntree

Paula is a passionate advocate for the power of business events to create long term economic and sustainable impact. She is a leader within the business event and association/not-for-profit sectors with more than 25 years’ experience. Paula works with associations to successfully design, develop and implement business event strategies that enhance the member experience, adapt to changing trends, diversify revenue streams, and increase the value of the organisation.
