It's no secret that PCMA members are among the best and brightest in the meetings and convention industry. To recognize their outstanding service and achievement, PCMA awards several honors. Nominations for awards are solicited each summer and are presented at Convening Leaders each January.

Distinguished Meeting Professional

The Distinguished Meeting Professional of the Year Award is to honor a meeting professional who exemplifies professional excellence in their contributions to PCMA, their organization, and the community.

Distinguished Meeting Professional of the Year Award Criteria
The nominee must be a full time meeting professional/planner and a member of PCMA.

This award will recognize:
- Meeting industry involvement
- Professional/career achievements
- National/Chapter Board and Committee work
- Volunteerism/community service
- Mentoring
- Speaker/author experience

Distinguished Service Professional of the Year

The Distinguished Service Professional of the Year Award honors a meeting service provider. The honoree will be an individual from AV, Catering, Convention Services, etc. who is instrumental in the success of a program or event.

Distinguished Service Professional of the Year Criteria
The nominee must be a member of PCMA.

This award will recognize:
- Anticipating, envisioning, and exceeding planners’ expectations
- Chapter and National PCMA involvement
- Resolving planners' oversights quietly and effectively
- Generating enthusiasm about planners' event with full event team (staff and contracted staff)
- Balancing of planners' and employer's needs/cost effectively under all circumstances
- Initiating creative and effective options in planning, coordinating, and enhancing the event.

The Emerging Leader Award is given to a member who has demonstrated extraordinary leadership and service early in their career. The honoree will be an individual who has exhibited exceptional contributions to PCMA and its membership.

Emerging Leader Award Criteria
The nominee must be a member with one to five years of experience in the meeting and hospitality industry.

This award will recognize:
- Active volunteer roles with PCMA Chapter or PCMA Nationally
- Participation in mentorship
- Future PCMA goals

Environmental Leadership

The Environmental Leadership Award honors the best practices of an organization that has positively affected the environment by minimizing negative impact on the atmosphere. These changes and achievements will promote sustainable environmental efforts globally.

Environmental Leadership Award Criteria
The Environmental Leadership Award recognizes an organization who best implements their policies of environmental sustainability. The organization must be a company, non-profit association or affiliated chapter that serves the meetings and convention community

This award will recognize:
- The demonstration of environmental leadership by executing an "environmentally friendly" meeting/event
- Support of "environmentally friendly" business practices into their workplace
- The organization's economic benefit and cost savings
- Recycling initiatives that lessen the environmental impact
- Social/Cultural initiatives that illustrate social responsibility and good ethics
- Initiatives that lead to environmental and/or social change

Innovation Award

The Innovation Award recognizes strategic, results-focused, innovative programs by an individual or organization in the meetings and hospitality industry today.

Innovation Award Criteria
The Innovation Award recognizes creating, developing and producing cutting edge industry-advancing ideas and/or programs. This innovation has the ability to be transferable by many of the PCMA members and demonstrates creativity in the meetings and hospitality industry. The award will go to individual members or organizations for their specific contributions.

This award will recognize:
- The mission focus
- Business impact of the innovation
  - financial savings
  - revenue growth

Spirit Award

The Spirit Award is to honor an organization that has significantly affected lives in a charitable or humanitarian way through the meetings and convention industry.

Spirit Award Criteria
The nominee is an organization extensively involved in championing the cause of those in need in our society. The organization must be a company, non-profit association or affiliated chapter that serves the meetings and convention community

The award will recognize:
- The donation of food, volunteer services, or surplus goods
- Inspiring the lives of indigent or impoverished individuals in a charitable or humanitarian way
- Providing impact and improving the quality of the community with the initiative/contribution
