Western Veterinary Conference has announced that David Little has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer as of March 4, 2013. Little accepted a dual position on the WVC Executive Staff in February 2009 as Assistant CEO of the Western Veterinary Conference and Director of WVC's Oquendo Center for Clinical Education. Previous CEO Guy Pidgeon, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM), who joined WVC as Assistant Director in 2006 and became its CEO in 2007, has retired and is now appreciatively recognized by WVC as Chief Executive Officer Emeritus through June 2013. The two officers are working together for a seamless transition in leadership of the organization, which is based in Las Vegas.
Experient, the source for integrated meeting and event solutions, has announced the addition of Barbara Herod, CMP, as its new Vice President, Association Sales, effective March 4.
Herod comes to Experient from the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau where she helped manage the sales of the city as a first-tier destination for meetings and conventions as their Associate Vice President of Sales, Eastern Region.
Herod brings over 20 years of hospitality industry experience to Experient. Prior to the San Diego CVB, she worked in sales management for The Kimpton Group, Hyatt and Holiday Inn.
After 10 years of service with Visit Orlando, Tammi Runzler has decided to leave her role as Sr. Vice President of Convention Sales and Services to focus full-time on My Neighbor’s Children, the non-profit providing support and relief to Haitian children and orphans that Tammi helped to found in 2010.
During her career, Tammi has been a champion for the meetings and conventions business in Orlando and across the hospitality industry. Shortly after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, she teamed up with a group of volunteers to make a difference in the lives of the 9 million people who suffer from hunger, contaminated water and disease in Haiti.
A successor for Tammi's role will be announced at a later date. In the meantime, Tammi will remain in her current role until that person is appointed to help make the transition as seamless as possible for our team members, clients and partners.
