CHICAGO, IL, November 8, 2011 - The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) announced today the launch of their inaugural Global Corporate Summit, to be held July 22-26, 2012 in Glasgow, Scotland. The summit is an invitation-only event for senior professionals responsible for global corporate planning.
"PCMA membership of corporate planners has grown by 67% this past year and it is vital that key corporate planners attend to exchange ideas and learnings on important topics that will affect our businesses now and well into the future," said David Peckinpaugh, CMP, President, Maritz Travel Company.

"The topics we discuss and the connections we make will enable us to progress as an industry and contribute to our corporations at a greater level."
The agenda will be developed pre-summit through collaborative crowd sourcing among the confirmed participates. Topics already on the table are the fluctuating economy, cultural nuances, globalization, CSR and the optimal structure of meetings department.
The PCMA Global Corporate Summit will be sponsored by Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre and Visit Scotland. According to Ben Goedegebuure, Director of Sales Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre (SECC), "This is a hugely significant event not just for Glasgow and Scotland, but for anyone working in the meetings and events industry. We are honored to be hosting an event of this importance; it underlines the growing stature of both the SECC and Glasgow on the global events scene and its place as the destination to hold thought provoking and ambitious summits."
Visit Scotland's Head of Business Tourism Neil Brownlee said, "This is an exceptional opportunity for Scotland to be at the forefront of education and leadership in our industry, and is precisely the type of partnership upon which we thrive.
