Our August 3rd PCMA SE Chapter Educational Program was a great event. We were pleased to host at the Sheraton Atlanta downtown and extremely excited about our speaker, Jim Spellos. Jim is the President of Meeting U, and well known in the hospitality speaking circuit for his tech savviness and his ability to convey all the latest tech information in a fun and engaging way.
Attendees had an opportunity to see and experience new virtual reality tools as well as learn about great new tech products that are available and applicable to the meetings industry. Have you heard about the Cicret bracelet, Emerald Cloud lab or x.ai Personal Assistant? Jim gave us a firsthand look at a Myo gesture control arm band for presenting and shared a list of tools and websites to check out.
Our attendees were obviously learning a lot and posting on social media as well. Meredith Martini posted, “Whoa! Crazy data #pcmase #eventprofs @jspellos,” in reference to this tidbit, “We create as much data in 2 days…as we did from the beginning of time through 2003.” Jennifer Hicks tweeted, “@jspellos is blowing my mind…” It was wonderful to see our attendees sharing experiences and learning while having a great time.
We provided a survey to our attendees at the end of the program. We look forward to sharing the feedback with you soon. If you have any ideas for a future program, please contact me, Charlene Lopez, at email@example.com.
We would like to thank Jekyll Island for sponsoring the program, the Sheraton Atlanta downtown for graciously hosting the event and an extra special thanks to Jim Spellos for speaking.
