In one of the largest initiatives to serve the burgeoning world of kosher, Rosen Hotels & Resorts launches a new kosher catering service featuring a newly constructed 5,000 square foot state-of-the-art kosher kitchen at Rosen Plaza.
Zayde’s Kosher Catering, the new modern glatt kosher and mehadrin facility, is under the strict rabbinical supervision of the Rabbinical Council of Florida (RCF). This newest kosher enterprise is the brainchild of Harris Rosen, President & COO, Rosen Hotels & Resorts properties with its seven modern hotels, two of which are adjacent to the Orange County Convention Center.
Rosen Plaza is the only Orlando hotel to offer kosher catering services. Zayde’s provides Kosher International and American cuisine for groups from a small gathering from 10 people to a large convention or celebration for up to 1,000 people for in-house groups and offsite functions.
The kosher kitchen was constructed in strict compliance with Halacha, with separate kitchens for glatt kosher meat, mehadrin cholov yisroel dairy and pareve. According to Victoria Hall, Director of Sales & Marketing, Rosen Plaza, the emphasis of Zayde’s is on quality upscale menus that conform to today’s demands of the kosher client. Zayde’s is under the supervision of Rosen Shingle Creek Executive Chef Jorge Oliveira and Rosen Plaza Executive Chef Michael McMullen. Chef McMullen has been with Rosen since 2006 and has a long distinguished career in managing large-scale kitchens, including positions with the Westin and Hyatt Hotels, most notably the Five Diamond-rated Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress.
Zayde’s serves the kosher community in multiple ways, beginning with on-site and off-site catering services. Kosher catering will now be available for meetings and special events at all seven Rosen Hotels & Resorts properties in Orlando. While based in Orlando, Zayde’s Kosher Kitchen catering services is available to serve Central Florida and beyond.
Owner Harris Rosen predicts that Rosen Hotels & Resorts will become a major luxury venue for both personal and institutional events, from a Bar Mitzvah to a national convention for a major organization.
For Rosen, the opening of Zayde’s is all about “connecting with our tradition and heritage.” He added “I am fond of our Bubbes and Zaydes who served as a link to our rich past and what better way to celebrate their lives than through good kosher food.”
Rosen, a Jewish philanthropist who was awarded Citizen of the Year in 2011 by the Orlando Sentinel, is well-known throughout Orlando for his community support. Rosen funded the construction of the 55,000 square-foot Jack & Lee Rosen Jewish Community Center in Southwest Orlando including the recently opened Rosen Event Center, is the major sponsor of the Holocaust Museum annual fundraising gala and has provided full college scholarships to hundreds of underprivileged area youth, among other initiatives.
Zayde’s comes at the heels of Rosen Plaza’s revitalization that includes the recent refurbishment of its 800 guest rooms including suites. The hotel’s updated modern guest rooms feature elegant blends of navy and ivory, with textured faux-leather custom headboards and chic pewter accents. New bathrooms finished with rich walnut cabinetry, granite counter tops and enhanced LED vanity and make-up mirrors make for a luxurious and modern stay for every guest.
“This is one of the final touches in a revitalization of the property that adds to the contemporary elegance of the hotel,” said Victoria Hall, Director of Sales and Marketing, Rosen Plaza. “With the new 3Nine nightclub and 39 Poolside Bar & Grill and updated Jack’s Place restaurant, as well as our modernized furnishings and incredible event and meeting spaces, guests can truly relax and feel completely at home here at the Rosen Plaza.”
With 60,000 square feet of meeting and event space, the hotel offers the perfect location to host conventions, meetings, weddings, corporate parties and other events. Located in the heart of Orlando on International Drive, Rosen Plaza is conveniently connected to the Orange County Convention Center via the Gary Sain Memorial Skybridge covered overhead pedestrian walkway, and offers ideal open-air shopping, dining and entertainment options at the Pointe Orlando located right across the street from the hotel.

While “gluten free” menus are a popular trend, kosher cuisine is equally challenging and important.
