A Florida Favorite Celebrates 10 Years Of Top-Notch Service

2016 marks a decade of hospitality excellence for Rosen Shingle Creek, a full-service convention hotel in the heart of Orlando offering 1,501 guest rooms and suites and close to 500,000 gross square feet of meeting and event space. 

What makes this more significant than a typical hotel anniversary?  While the hotel turns 10 years old this year, the company has more than 43 years of history, with deep roots in Orlando. It also boasts one of the lowest turnover rates in the hospitality industry -- a significant benefit for time-crunched planners who thrive on established relationships and knowing what to expect.

The hotel’s general manager Dan Giordano has been with Rosen Hotels & Resorts for more than 20 years, starting first at Rosen Plaza, moving to Rosen Centre and opening Rosen Shingle Creek.   The Vice President of Sales, Leslie Menichini, was selected as the first associate hired in 2001 for the AAA Four Diamond property and is still leading a 50+ person sales team with no plans of stopping.

Ranked by Cvent as a Top Ten in Orlando and Top 25 in the U.S. meeting hotel, the AAA Four Diamond property features 490,000 square feet of meeting and event facilities, including the 95,000-square-foot, column-free Gatlin Ballroom, 60,000-square-foot Sebastian Ballroom and 40,000-square-foot Panzacola Ballroom, which combined can accommodate up to 9,500 guests. The hotel also features 55,000 square feet of breakout meeting space and 100,000 square feet of pre-function space, as well as more than 72,000 of outdoor space, including a 40,000-square-foot event lot. The outdoor terrace makes an exceptional setting for luncheons or sunset receptions. The hotel offers 1,501 elegantly appointed, oversized guest rooms and suites, including 191 parlor suites, 30 hospitality suites and three presidential suites.

In addition to its lengthy menu of on-site amenities and sophisticated spaces, the hotel is a favorite of meeting planners for its close proximity to the Orange County Convention Center and some of Orlando’s most popular attractions, including SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Orlando Resort, and International Drive. 

Looking Ahead

By year’s end, all 1,501 guest rooms at Rosen Shingle Creek will feature a brand new look. In addition to views of the golf course, pool, or gardens, every room will feature new designer décor and enhanced design features. This modern, Spanish Revival-inspired design is currently reflected in a recent modernize seen throughout the rest of the property, including the expansive lobby, Headwaters Lounge, and Café Osceola. Expanded seating and more communal spaces throughout the lobby and dining venues were also recently added to provide additional pre- and post-meeting and mix and mingle options for groups and guests.

This winter, Shingle Creek Golf Club will feature new designs and opportunities to re-experience the four-star services the course has to offer tournament and individual players. The club is home to the Brad Brewer Golf Academy, consistently ranked one of the “Top 100 Golf Schools” by Golf Magazine, offering clinics and classes for golfers of all levels as well as a range of services for group functions and retreats, including catering and full tournament support.
