Betsey Bair

David Whitaker

David Whitaker, who has spent the past year as the marketing chief of national tourism bureau Brand USA, is expected to be named the new CEO of Chicago's tourism bureau next week, according to multiple sources close to the organization. Whitaker will replace Don Welsh, who resigned as CEO in February after a five-year run leading the city's tourism promotion efforts.

Sue Wheatley

Sue Wheatley has been appointed as the new director of sales & marketing at Fairmont The Palm. Wheatley’s new role at the 381-room resort was effective from June 1. Wheatley joins the Dubai resort directly from FRHI Hotels & Resorts (FRHI) where she was executive director of luxury sales across FRHI’s three luxury brands, Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel.

Scott McConnell

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel groups, today announced the appointment of Scott McConnell as director, Global Sales – Leisure, Asia Pacific. Scott will be spearheading the global sales for the leisure segment, leveraging on Carlson Rezidor’s innovative sales avenues, delivering greater revenue streams to the group’s portfolio of hotels.

Corinthia Hotels has announced the appointment of Diane Parker as head of sales for the Eastern Region, USA. Working closely with, Stephane Trycionka, director of sales and marketing at Corinthia London, and with the directors of sales and marketing at Corinthia Hotels in Budapest, Lisbon and Malta, Diane’s territories will cover the Eastern Region of the USA and Canada, Chicago and the Mid-West, as well as Brazil.
