Once again, NYPCMA’s education committee knocked it out of the ballpark—this time in collaboration with MPINY as over 175 industry movers and shakers gathered to celebrate Global Meetings Industry Day on April 14th.
Fun Fact #1: Two days before the event took place, the Empire State Building was lit blue to mark the occasion, courtesy of NYC & Company.
After a last minute venue change to the 3 West Club, the evening began with cocktails and conversation, followed by a series of TED-style talks on issues and trends affecting our industry.
Highlights of the evening included three energetic presentations followed by a panel discussion:
- Internet Security: Areas of Vulnerability in the Hospitality Industry (speaker: Jonathan Howe, Esq., Hutton & Howe Ltd)
- Industry Trends (speaker: Richard Aaron, BizBash)
- The Cartography of Negotiation (speaker: Scott Wayne, The Frontier Project).
- Maximizing Third Party Relationships (moderater: Jessica Levin of Seven Degrees Communications; speakers: Matt Davis, Grass Roots and Lisa Luks, HelmsBriscoe)
The evening’s contributors had a number of great take-aways to share. Details from their presentations will be covered in upcoming Chapter newsletters.
Fun Fact #2: Did you know there is a GMID anthem? Can you find yourself in the video or the photo below?
