Where Will You Be on April 14th’s Global Meetings Industry Day?

Deborah Sexton

In an unprecedented display of unity, meetings and events leaders from around the globe will come together on April 14, to showcase the real impact that face-to-face meetings have on people, business, and communities. Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) marks an expansion of North American Meetings Industry Day, which was launched last year by the Meetings Mean Business Coalition.

Your participation will help us raise our industry’s global profile and offer the opportunity for you to engage with business leaders, elected officials, journalists and members of the general public to bring our industry story to the forefront. It’s a chance for us to come together on a single day and champion who we are and what we do with one loud and powerful voice.

Together we will shine a light on the value we provide each and every day and demonstrate the critical role that meetings play in developing personal connections, driving positive business outcomes and building strong local communities. Meetings mean jobs, education and training, cross-industry collaboration and billions of dollars in revenue. And we want everyone to know.

You can find a listing of all GMID events here and confirm your participation. If you are going to be in Austin on the 14th you can join PCMA COO Sherrif Karamat on the steps of the Texas state capitol, along with his colleagues from MPI, IAEE, Meetings Mean Business and Freeman AV - join in here.

There is more you can do. Our friends at SongDivision crowdsourced and recorded our very own ‘GMID Anthem’ along with a video highlighting the industry.  This is an excellent way to promote GMID and your support - the video can be found here – take a moment to share with your connections and be sure to include the hashtag #GMID.
