The 2016/2017 Heartland Chapter Sponsorship brochure has been updated with a new look and will be ready to go out soon. We have updated our sponsorships with some new levels including a Diamond level sponsorship with a Pick-5 event option and a Platinum level sponsorship with a Pick 3 event option.
The PCMA E3 Conference and Retreat will be held at The Lodge of the Four Seasons at the Lake of the Ozarks, MO on July 21-23, 2016. A brochure is being developed for the event at this time to send out to prospective sponsors. Plan to join us for this fantastic event.

Again this year, Cheri Jones, Brad Plumb and Eric Jacobson are serving on the Communications Committee. In addition to frequent postings on the Chapter’s Facebook page and Twitter account, the committee will publish four issues of the Chapter’s Heartland Beat eNewsletter; one per quarter with the first reaching Chapter members’ email inboxes the last week of March.

2016 is off to a great start with seven members joining our chapter in January and May. We are kicking off a campaign to work with the emerging leaders committee for new graduates and to get a better understanding of student’s needs as members of our chapters to help with our renewal and retention rates. We have been given our goals for 2016 – we have been tasked with recruiting 47 new members and 128 renewals.
We welcome two new committee members – Hayley Neverve with the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile and Gina Page with the Children’s Hospital Association.

Submitted the PCMA Education Conference scholarship to the Board for approval - This scholarship will be awarded to one recipient to attend the PCMA Education Conference in St. Louis. Registration, hotel and airfare are included.
Submitted the PCMA Membership scholarship to the Board for approval - This scholarship will be awarded to one recipient for a one year membership to PCMA. This is available to meeting professionals joining PCMA for the first time or have not held a PCMA membership in the past three years.

We had a great Q1 in the programs committee. Our February event was huge success! The 2016 Board Installation and Silent Auction was extremely well attended with 90 people turning out in support of our new board members. Additionally, we raised $18,000 for our chapter charities, Operation Breakthrough and Unleashed!
Our next program will by May 12th at the all new Hyatt Place Kansas City/Lenexa City Center. Don't miss this back by popular demand program, "Food Allergies and Dietary Restrictions: The Real Cost." Look for registration to open early April!

For the May 12th event, the Community Service Committee will be collecting items and monetary donations for Children’s Mercy Hospital. There will be more information to follow with the registration email. We are also working on securing an event for the June 9th Community Service Day event.
