When I was selected to attend Convening Leaders
, I could not have been more grateful or elated for the opportunity. I diligently reviewed the program, carefully planning my agenda. Despite my preparation, the experience was indescribable.
Three things really stood out; 1) the beautiful and vivacious city of Vancouver
, 2) the caliber of attendees and programming, and 3) the detail to aesthetics and experience. Walking into the opening reception, I was dazzled by bartenders belaying from the ceilings, snowboard simulators, fortune tellers, ice sculptures and more. Most importantly were top industry professionals – both old acquaintances catching up, and new connections being made. As a first-timer, I felt comfortable and welcomed into the dynamic culture.
On the first day of programming, a whole new energy was brought to life. General Session unveiled a screen that spanned the full length of the ballroom, and the welcome video even featured the Prime Minister of Canada! Convening Leader’s meeting design encouraged interaction, exploration, questioning and learning. PCMA offered discounts to the St. Louis Education Conference
, CMP textbooks and study courses – it felt like the ultimate resource. I came back to the office with pages of notes and ideas, and the hope to rejoin CL in Austin 2017. Thanks again, NYPCMA!
