Clifford “Rip” Rippetoe

The Board of Directors of the San Diego Convention Center Corporation announced today the selection of Clifford “Rip” Rippetoe, a convention and meeting industry veteran, to take the helm as President and CEO of the San Diego Convention Center Corporation. Rippetoe has a long and successful career in facility management and operations working in the for-profit sector as well as not-for-profit and governmental organizations. His immediate past position was President and CEO of the Kentucky State Fair Board (KSFB). The KSFB manages the Kentucky Exposition Center (the sixth largest convention center in the United States), Freedom Hall, Broadbent Arena and the Kentucky International Convention Center. Through his career, he has worked for organizations hosting top national tradeshows and conventions, the Olympic Winter Games of 2002, and large scale public assembly facilities such as the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Kentucky Expo Center.

Nick Sargent

SnowSports Industries America, the snow sports industry’s member-owned trade association, has named Nick Sargent as SIA president. Sargent, who joined the organization in August 2015 as SIA’s incoming president, has spent the last five months working alongside exiting President David Ingemie.

Sharon Siskie

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts officially announced that long-time executive Sharon Siskie had been named the new senior vice president of sales in the United States. The move is effective immediately. As Disney’s senior vice president of sales, Siskie will take over the leisure and non-leisure sales channels domestically, and will also be responsible for sales and marketing organizations in Canada and Latin America. On top of her other responsibilities for North America, Siskie will also be in charge of the Walt Disney Travel Company, as well as oversee travel operations—including Disney contact centers—and global in-bound receptive channels.

Tina Gerson

Nobu Hotel Eden Roc in Miami Beach appointed Tina Gerson director of sales. Gerson previously held sales director roles at The Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, FL and spent more than 10 years at Loews Miami Beach.

Cindy Dowers and Dustin Wolfe

Visit KC, Kansas City’s convention and visitors bureau, made two recent promotions. Cindy Dowers is now director of marketing and communications, while Dustin Wolfe now assumes the role of partnership development manager.

Parley Stock

Parley Stock has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at Found:Re in Phoenix. Stock previously held management positions at well-known hotels including Hotel Palomar Phoenix, a Kimpton Hotel; The Saguaro, Commune Hotels + Resorts and The Ritz-Carlton Phoenix.

Ashley Carroll

Ashley Carroll has been appointed Account Director Group Sales at Starwood Maui Sales Complex. Carroll will oversee group sales efforts in the Midwest USA region for the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa and The Westin Maui Resort & Spa in Kā‘anapali.
