The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority’s newly minted Executive Director David Gibbons made a key senior executive decision by naming Fred Peterson as the new Deputy Director. Peterson served as the Interim Executive Director from July 1, 2015 until December 31, 2015 while also fulfilling the duties of Director of Facilities Operations.

Omni Hotels & Resorts today announced Peter Strebel, a 25-year-plus veteran of the hospitality industry, has been named chief marketing officer and senior vice president of sales.

Mayakoba, an eco-luxury resort in the Riviera Maya, has named Carl Emberson Vice President of Operations and Marketing. The 1,600-acre Mayakoba development, which includes three luxury hotels – Banyan Tree, Fairmont and Rosewood – and the Greg Norman-designed El Camaleon golf course. A fourth hotel, Andaz Mayakoba, will open in late 2016.

Adam Schomaker has been named director of sales and marketing for LondonHouse Chicago, Oxford Capital’s latest luxury lifestyle hotel opening spring 2016. He will oversee all sales, marketing and e-commerce efforts for the 452-room property.

Omni Hotels & Resorts today announced that Mark Wykes, a 30-year veteran of the hospitality industry, has been appointed vice president of hotel sales & marketing. In this leadership role, Wykes is responsible for maximizing, creating and directing hotel revenue generating strategies with the objective of increased RevPar Index and market share for the brand.

The Pullman Miami Airport named Judith Garcia director of sales and marketing. Most recently, Garcia was director of sales and marketing at Sonesta Coconut Grove in Miami.

Denis Herron was named international sales manager at The Westin Dawn Beach Resort & Spa, St. Maarten.

Jay Link

Jay Link has joined Lanyon as chief sales officer after serving as vice president worldwide sales at Gravitant, a cloud brokerage software firm recently acquired by IBM.  Link will oversee global field and inside sales teams for the meetings, event and travel software company. He is based in Dallas and reports to Lanyon chief executive David Bonnette.

Paolo Cazzin

Paolo Cazzin was appointed director of sales and marketing at Palazzo Victoria in Verona, Italy. Most recently, Cazzin was director of group sales for The Bauers Hotel in Venice, Italy.

Paul Riemens will be the new CEO of RAI Amsterdam beginning April 7. Together with Maurits van der Sluis, newly appointed to the position of COO, they will form the new statutory board of the Amsterdam exhibition and convention organization.

In this role, Brown leads an experienced team of sales professionals focused on exhibit and sponsorship sales, revenue growth and increased profitability for NTP's portfolio of tradeshow clients and proprietary events.

The Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau has named Sybil Davis as its new national accounts manager. Davis will be responsible for booking international, multicultural and religious meeting and convention groups for the Pennsylvania Convention Center and Greater Philadelphia hotels.
