Mandarin Oriental has confirmed that Edouard Ettedgui is to step down as Group Chief Executive on March 31, 2016. He will be succeeded by James Riley. James Riley is currently the group finance director of Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited. He joined the Jardine Matheson Group in 1993 from Kleinwort Benson, and has held a number of senior finance and commercial roles within the group prior to taking his current position in 2005. He has served on the board of Mandarin Oriental’s management company for the past ten years and has an extensive knowledge of the group’s operations.
Tania Armenta has been appointed president and CEO of the Albuquerque (New Mexico) Convention & Visitors Bureau, effective January 6, 2016, following a unanimous vote by the board of directors. Armenta currently serves as the CVB’s chief operating and marketing officer and has been with the organization for more than 17 years.

Association Forum announced the appointment of Karen Gonzales as Vice President of Business Development. Gonzales was previous with DMAI, where she worked for eight years in various leadership roles; Vice President of Membership, Senior Vice President of Membership & Business Development, Senior Vice President of Membership and Operations and most recently as Executive Vice President of Sales & Business Development.
Michael Bowman, president and CEO of the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board (VFTCB) has been named to the 2016 board of directors for the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB), the official tourism promotion agency (TPA) for the City of Philadelphia globally, and the primary sales and marketing arm for the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Bowman will serve on the board’s executive committee.

The Chattanooga Convention and Visitors Bureau has named Traci Parker as the company’s director of Corporate Sales. Parker was most recently the senior sales manager at the Chattanoogan Hotel. Prior to that, she was the senior meeting and event planner for Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
National Association of Counties (NACo) announced Germaine Schaefer joined the organization as Director Conference and Leadership Development.
Global Experience Specialists (GES) recently named Wendy Gibson as executive vice president of global marketing. Gibson is an accomplished B-to-B marketing leader with a high-tech background and brings 25 years of managing all aspects of marketing. As executive vice president of global marketing, Gibson is responsible for driving GES’ global brand and marketing strategies, including leading MarketWorks, GES’ strategy and marketing advisory service.
