NYPCMA board member and Membership committee director, Brecht Putman of Visit Flanders, shares some thoughts on volunteering with NYPCMA:
“Volunteering with NYPCMA builds careers and increases industry knowledge. Overall, the time and expertise invested will help grow the chapter and improve the meetings industry as a whole.” Sounds like a great deal to me…
Promoting a destination that’s famous and loved for her chocolates and beers would seem to be rewarding enough as it is, so why take on extra volunteer work? Flanders House is located on the 44th Floor of the New York Times Building, and this is the location where we just completed the NYPCMA Charity Event and Coat Drive
in the spirit of #GivingTuesday. Through a joint volunteer effort of the of NYPCMA Chapter’s board of directors, motivated members, a large number of non-members, and countless donations, we created over 200 care packages for The Bowery Mission. Looking down from the event space on this rainy evening, as the last volunteers walk out, it`s good to know that 200+ of New York City’s homeless and those in need will enjoy what we just did. That’s just one rewarding reason to volunteer.
