November 2015 Annual Meeting Recap

Charlene Lopez
We would like to thank everyone who braved the rain to join us for the Annual Meeting on November 4, 2015.  We’ve had remarkable turn out at our quarterly program luncheons throughout the entire year.  November was no exception with 88 attendees.  Thanks so much to all of our sponsors who made the program possible and for all of you who made a special trip from another state to attend.

There were some great highlights during this year’s program.  Jennifer Hutchinson joined us, from the Atlanta Day Shelter.  Bernie Wilke, our Director of Community Services, was able to thank her for her charitable work at the center and presented her with a check from our chapter.  We will be collecting donations for the shelter at the upcoming PCMA SE and IAEE SE Holiday Networking and Charity Luncheon on December 10th.  This is such a nice time of year to remember those who are less fortunate.

Our 2016 Board was announced at the program.  We couldn’t provide the events and education that we do without our volunteers who work behind the scenes to make things happen.  It’s wonderful to welcome the new members to the 2016 Board:  Angela Maneol, CMP, Chris Colbert, Leighton Williams, CEM, and Terry Dougherty, CMP.  Thank you so much for your service, and a huge thank you is deserved for those coming off the board in 2016.  I would personally like to thank Brenda Dempsey, Dave Keller and TJ Jackson.  We look forward to a very successful and enjoyable 2016!

Our Annual Meeting speaker, Michael Cerbelli, has spent the last 13 years providing planners and hospitality professionals with the most exciting and innovative ideas in the industry. During the program, he delighted everyone with his videos, insights, and the full “Hot List:  2015.”  We were treated to some samples of hot new products, moved by a storyteller and “wowed” by artists, acrobats, and a pancake portrait maker.  The list was impressive and useful; there was a little something for everyone.  I’m already excited to see what makes the list in 2016!
