And Just Like That……..
The year is over! This time last year, I was anticipating 2015 as your chapter President with both excitement and nervousness and wondering how I would ever get through the year in this leadership role. I discovered my fears were unfounded as I was surrounded with good people who made every aspect of our chapter board better than I could have expected. Those who served on the board with me, our committee volunteers as well as our chapter administrator and support staff made the year fly by and helped our chapter achieve some incredible goals: highest number of attendees at a quarterly program, new sponsorship ideas and sales, two chapter events outside of Atlanta (Orlando) and out-of-the-box educational topics, are among the accomplishments this amazing group of people helped to achieve.
Thank you to those board members who are moving on to other endeavors after the end of the year: Brenda Dempsey, Kevin Belanger, TJ Jackson and Dave Keller. Your service, support and knowledge will be missed! We hope you won’t stray too far, and will sign up for a committee!
The incoming 2016 board met last week to start planning for next year, and I think it will be another great year for our chapter. Exciting new ideas and strategies were shared, and we look forward to continuing to grow our chapter. We would love to hear from our members too. If you have ideas for education topics or anything else, please share them with us! This is YOUR chapter, and we want to deliver what you need!
We hope to see you at one of our first 2016 chapter events, beginning with the chapter reception during Convening Leaders. This will take place on Sunday, January 10th at 4:30pm at the Fairmont Waterfront. Don’t forget to bring your credit cards to bid on our silent auction items. And if you would like to donate to the auction, click here
Thank you all for allowing me to be your President this year. It was a wonderful experience, and I encourage you all to get involved at some level. Even a small contribution of your time and talent makes a huge difference! Enjoy the holiday season, and best wishes in the New Year!
