Arkansas – The Natural State
We are thrilled to be coming back to St. Louis! Beginning January 6th, Southwest Airlines is adding two daily non-stop flights between Little Rock and St. Louis. This new service comes right on the heels of another non-stop addition in November between Little Rock Clinton National Airport and New Orleans. Whether it’s one of our 15 non-stop destinations or simply one convenient connection…meetings and conventions just got easier in Little Rock! We look forward to welcoming you.
Iowa – The Hawkeye State
Sioux City - The time of the year when trees lose their leaves and cold weather is on its way, also means the sports season is on! For eight consecutive years, Sioux City is proud to host the NAIA Women Volleyball Tournaments. The level of the tournament gets better and better every year. Also, gymnast from all over the state will be filling the city when they come to compete for the Gold at the USA State Compulsory Gymnastics meet.
Des Moines - Construction on a new 330-room convention center hotel is scheduled to start demolition at the beginning of December. The Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau has unveiled its new Catch Des Moines Fun Pass, available to locals and visitors free of charge. The pass features discounts at seven local attractions/restaurants and more than 100 additional offers online at catchdesmoines.com/funpass. Two new restaurants have opened up in Downtown Des Moines: Lurra Cocina, a Spanish and Mediterranean restaurant located near Western Gateway Park and Guru BBQ, a BBQ restaurant near Principal Park. Missouri – The Show Me State
St. Louis – There’s a real excitement within the St. Louis convention corridor as the Marriott St. Louis Grand and Courtyard St. Louis Downtown/Convention Center have recently celebrated their grand openings. Including their renovations, there are now 1,750 newly refurbished hotel rooms and suites within walking distance of the America’s Center. Meeting attendees will soon have yet another way to enjoy their stay, as the National Blues Museum will officially open on April 2, 2016. The museum will help tell the history and significance of blues as the foundation of American music. Nebraska – The Cornhusker State
Omaha - A new $225 million upscale urban dining and entertainment district is starting to take shape right across from Omaha’s 250,000 sq. ft. convention center. The Capitol District will include a 14-story high rise Marriott hotel that will anchor the new development. The 333-room full service hotel will have 20,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space, including an 11,000 sq. ft. ballroom. Other features include a full-service restaurant, two bars, a Starbucks® store in the lobby, extra-large fitness center, a rooftop outdoor swimming pool and a parking garage. Construction is underway, with completion anticipated in spring of 2017.
