More than 1,500 street–involved youth come to Covenant House Vancouver each year to find sanctuary and a brighter future. Covenant House's Crisis Program takes in homeless, runaway and at-risk youth between the ages of 16 and 24.
When they arrive, young people are often distraught, sick, hungry and exhausted. Covenant House’s first priority is to meet their basic needs: medical attention, nutritious food, a safe place to sleep. The House has 54 beds (30 for males and 24 for females) and offers young people food, clothing and counseling. There is no fee to stay at the shelter; all are welcome, provided they are not a danger to themselves or others.
When you’re in Vancouver this January, support the Covenant House by donating any of the following items to the donation bins, located at the Pan Pacific and Vancouver Convention Centre West near CL registration. Travel size and full size items are welcome. Donation items:
Shaving gel & razors
Deodorant (men’s & women’s)
Lip balm/ Blistex
Toothbrushes and paste
Shampoo & conditioner
Tampons with applicators
