Tom Mullen

The Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau announced Tom Mullen has joined the organization in the newly created position of senior vice president and chief operating officer. He began work on Sept. 1, replacing Wayne Arita, HVCB’s chief financial officer, who retired in September. In his new role, Mullen will be responsible for finance and corporate services, contract compliance, business development and travel industry partnerships. Most recently, Mullen held the position of chief administrative officer with the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board.

Jennifer Cunningham

Jennifer Cunningham has been appointed interim managing director of the Reno-Sparks (Nevada) Convention & Visitors Authority following the recent departure of former president and CEO Christopher Baum.

Carol Wallace

Carol Wallace has announced that she will retire as president and CEO of the San Diego Convention Center Corporation, effective December 31, 2016. Wallace will step down from the position on December 31, 2015, but will serve as a consultant to the corporation until the end of 2016.

Peggy White

Kimpton’s Canary Santa Barbara announced today the appointment of Peggy White as senior sales manager. White comes to the Canary from Loews Hollywood Hotel, where she served as a national sales manager.

Uli Altrichter

Regent Beijing appointed Uli Altrichter director of sales and marketing. Previously, Altrichter was director of sales and marketing at the Intercontinental Berlin.

Blake Brissette-Mathias

Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach, California, named Blake Brissette-Mathias general manager of food and beverage, Brent McNally general manager and Gene Smallwood director of sales and marketing.

Cathryn Casem

The Embassy Row Hotel in Washington, D.C, named Cathryn Casem catering sales and conference service manager and Nahal Khatami sales manager.

Allison Lesser

Allison Lesser was named director of sales and marketing at Hotel Irvine in California.

Jessica Stephens

Jessica Stephens was appointed director of sales and marketing at Crowne Plaza Minneapolis Downtown. Most recently, Stephens was assistant director of sales at Millennium Hotel Minneapolis.

Riana van Staden

Riana van Staden was appointed director of sales and marketing for Hilton Minneapolis/Bloomington. Most recently, van Staden was assistant director and senior sales manager at Minneapolis Marriott Southwest.

William T. Glasgow Sr.

William T. Glasgow Sr., a 65-year veteran of the trade show industry, passed away peacefully in his home Oct. 23. “BG”, as he was known, started his career in the industry at Conrad Hilton Hotel in Chicago, while attending Loyola University. In 1967, he became director of sales for Hilton Catering at McCormick Place, and later returned to McCormick Place as director of sales and marketing for Greyhound Food Management. In 1975, he was hired as show manager by the Electronic Industries Association to manage its winter and summer Consumer Electronics Shows (held in Chicago and Las Vegas). He then was promoted to vice president and served in that post until he started his own management firm – W. T. Glasgow.
