Ready for Fall? A Message from the President

Jennifer Smith Hicks, CMP, CASE
Fall is the time for football, boots, bonfires and all things pumpkin. (I have to admit, I get excited when I see that PSL {pumpkin spiced latte} is back on the menu at my local Starbucks!)  For many it’s also a time for that oh so fun event – budgeting! If you are currently preparing your budgets for 2016, I hope you will include PCMA SE, in both your sponsorship and events budget. Our sponsorship team worked very hard to fill the 2015 opportunities early and have already begun to sell various spots for next year. If you are interested in learning more, contact me or our Director of Sponsorship, Kathy Sullivan. Our most immediate need is for donations to our silent auction at Convening Leaders, our largest fundraiser of the year.  You can find that form here.

If you did not attend the 2nd Annual Bowling Event at The Painted Pin last month, you missed a fabulous time! This is turning into a signature event for our chapter, and we hope you will plan to attend next year. Thank you to all of our generous sponsors, to everyone who bid on the silent auction prizes and for everyone who came to bowl or socialize.

We have an energetic, entertaining and educational program planned for our Annual Meeting on Wednesday, November 4th at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center. That week is also Service in Sync, so we will be collecting special items for our charity at that luncheon. Our final program of the year will be our joint holiday luncheon with the IAEE Southeast Chapter, taking place on Thursday, December 10th at the Georgia Aquarium. I hope to see the rooms filled to capacity at both events!

Quick news from PCMA Headquarters:  The PCMA Education Foundation launched a “30for30” campaign ending December 31, 2015, asking all members to donate $30 to fuel our organization for the next 30 years. There is friendly competition among the chapters; the chapter with the largest percentage of donors receives a trophy, recognition at Convening Leaders and, of course, bragging rights! Please review the article later in this newsletter for more details.

Fall is my favorite time of year in Atlanta, and I hope you all get out and enjoy all that the city has to offer. Just don’t forget to include PCMA in your plans and in your budget!
