Cultivating Creative Moments at Convening Leaders 2016

By Carolyn Clark

PCMA’s Convening Leaders kicks off 2016 this January 10-13, at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Always determined to challenge ourselves to create new and different experiences, here’s just some of what’s in store, and we are adding new things all the time.

Our Keynote speakers include Gretchen Rubin, author of New York Times bestsellers, The Happiness Project, Happier at Home and upcoming Better than Before; and Juliet Funt, founder and owner of Whitespace at Work.

Our Thought Leader speakers include Michelle Stacy, former President of Keurig on high-engagement leadership, Johnny Earle, founder, Johnny Cupcakes on marketing and customer experience, Michelle Wucker, VP of Studies, The Chicago Council on Global Affairs and author of The Gray Rhino on business strategy and preparedness and Robert Biswas-Deiner, researcher and author on courage at work

We know you don’t come just to hear the big guns - in addition to our industry education concurrent tracks of Meeting & Experience Design, Event Technology & Intelligence and Operational Strategy, Convening Leaders Vancouver will introduce two new areas of focus to help you up your game.

New Track:  Leading Change

As events professionals, we have the ability to be strong change agents in our organizations. How are you leading the charge? These sessions will help you communicate and pitch ideas, lead stronger teams and make change a reality. Sessions include - Conversations and Presentations that Win Most; The New Reality: How to Seize the Power of Change; Modern Organizational Leadership: Leading Teams by Influencing Partners; and Strengthening Strategic Muscles.

New Track:  Being Your Best

Wellness and productivity are the keys to performing at your personal and professional best.  Adopting a healthy lifestyle and working smarter, not harder, will have a positive impact on your overall well-being. It will help lead you, your teams and your organization to success. Sessions include - Be People Smart: Watch Productivity Soar; The Happy Hour Effect and Culture at Work: Strategies to Spin Stress into Success; plus more sessions and experiences on wellness, fitness, nutrition and more.

Medical Meetings and Corporate Meeting Pros you have a new home base.

We know you want to connect with others just like you - to explore new ideas and talk about the very specific challenges you are facing. This year’s Convening Leaders offers special education and networking room just for medical and corporate planners.

This year we are saving the best for last.

On Wednesday, we’ll introduce a brand new format that features two general sessions, a “Grab and Go or Stay and Network” lunch and a brand new program on women’s leadership. As if that weren’t enough, we’re partnering with our host city to offer a series of amazing Vancouver Experiences you can participate in that afternoon.

Are you ready to go? You’ll have to wait until January, but you can register now here.
