A few words that came to mind after hearing Matt Tenney's talk - Serve
to Be Great: Leadership Lessons from a Prison, Monastery, and Boardroom were:
1. Courage 2. Heart and 3. advancement
The courage it takes to tell a story like Matt's over and over again in front of audience after audience, and ensure other people learn from his mistakes is just amazing. It truly takes courage to open one's self up so deeply and honestly.
After hearing Matt's talk the word heart comes to mind because he just has such passion and really spoke to the audience from his heart. He shared his life story and some of his most intimate moments and struggles. The audience truly got a feel for Matt's remorse and pure heart from his kindness and quest to aid others through volunteer work, sharing his story and experiences.
Finally advancement, Matt explains how he pulled himself out of his troubles and advanced his life and now how he can help advance and advise others. His message of courage delivered with heart truly motivated us to be better leaders and advance our best selves and looking out for those around us.
