This year I had the honor of receiving the SE Chapter's scholarship to attend Convening Leaders 2015 in Chicago. I decided to make the most of this opportunity by soaking in as much as possible in the windy city!
My first stop was our Chapter's Reception and Silent Auction. There were so many great packages to choose from. I won a two-night stay in Nashville, which I used to celebrate my birthday. It was great fun and a wonderful way to network within my chapter and also help raise funds for our educational and scholarship programs. From there, I headed with Chapter friends to the Opening Reception at the Museum of Science and Industry. So much to see and do there! I'd love to return the next time I'm in Chicago.
The next few days of the meeting were spent networking with industry peers, making new connections and learning about the latest trends in the meeting industry. This year I found myself drawn to many of the Learning Lounge sessions. I love anything I can learn and immediately apply to my everyday work. Project management tools, time-saving LifeHack apps and tips to optimize my Linkedin Profile were among my favorites!
As the meeting came to a close, I enjoyed saying "cheers" to a fabulous meeting in Chicago and looking ahead to the 2016 meeting in Vancouver. Vancouver looks so beautiful and I can't what to see what the city and PCMA has in store for us!
