Today’s meetings world requires that we negotiate every aspect of our convention/meeting or trade show like a subject matter expert. Internet is no different…or is it? On May 6, we are excited to have two true experts, Matthew Harvey with PSAV and Thomas Lloyd with CCLD speak with us on “Everything You Were Afraid to Admit You Didn’t Know About Internet for Meetings and More.” Matt and Thomas will help unlock the mysteries of internet pricing, infrastructure, what the cloud is, why free isn’t always best, and how to negotiate based on your specific needs. You’ll have the opportunity to ask your specific internet questions of two experts before going to your next negotiation table.
The May 6 program begins at 11:30am with registration and networking, but meeting planners are welcome to join us for a complimentary Planner Only Session, which begins at 10:45 am. During this session, Matthew Harvey will review the recent industry news has on two major hotel companies that have started advertising “free internet,” and will discuss what each chain is offering and how that relates to planners. Learn the different business models for hotels versus convention centers in regards to internet and how to maneuver negotiations with both. The discussions will begin with an overview of the internet, then uncover how to determine if “free” is really enough.
The May 6 Educational event is being hosted at the Georgia World Congress Center at 285 Andrew Young International Blvd NW, Atlanta. Click here
