North American Meetings Industry Day, Thursday, April 16, 2015

Capital Chapter

PCMA Capital Chapter Government Relations & Advocacy Task Force and Emerging Professionals Committee are leading the rallying charge of the hospitality industry on April 16th to demonstrate the economic value & impact of the meetings industry.

The North American Meetings Industry Day (NAMID) is a national effort where meeting professionals from across the country will be hosting events in their respective cities on April 16th. Join in this national movement and advocacy day by learning at the education sessions, and networking and rallying during the Rally & Reception.

From 2:30-3:30 pm, we start off our education component with three concurrent sessions:

Grassroots Impact with:

  • Kimberly Lewis, senior vice president, U.S. Green Building Council
  • Chad Chappell, director of sales, Visit Baltimore

Value of Meetings – Business Impact of Meetings with:

  • Don Neal, founder & CEO, 360 Live Media
  • Solomon Keene, Jr, president, Hotel Association of Washington DC

Local & Federal Government Regulations with:

  • Lisa Delpy Neirotti, professor, George Washington University
  • Beth White, FAA

From 3:30-4:30 pm, the general session will explore Meetings Mean Business: How to Educate; How to Embrace; How to Live It, with:

  • Charles Jeffers II, chief operating officer, Destination Marketing Association International

Our Hospitality Industry Rally & Reception, 4:30-5:30 pm, will be led by:
