Sandy Bell Roja

Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort in Tobago has named industry veteran Sandy Bell Rojas as Director of Sales and Marketing where she will oversee efforts in all international markets for the 178-room property. Bell Rojas is a Swiss hotel-school trained professional with more than 15 years of hotel operations and sales and marketing experience.

David Whitaker

David Whitaker will be joining Brand USA on May 11, 2015, as chief marketing officer. Whitaker’s background and experience as a destination marketing expert and a leader make him an excellent choice to lead Brand USA’s marketing efforts.  He has successfully promoted destinations for more than 25 years and has a strong track record leveraging relationships with hotels, attractions, arts and cultural facilities, restaurants, retail, entertainment venues and business services to promote communities and experiences. For the past eight years, he has been president and CEO of Tourism Toronto (Toronto's Convention and Visitors Association), where he has been hugely successful in driving visitation to the region and North America’s fourth largest city.  

Saratoga Convention & Tourism Bureau Announces 2015 Board of Directors

Elected to serve on the Executive Committee for 2015/2016 are; Chair – Megan Hennessey (Courtyard by Marriott Saratoga Springs), Immediate Past Chair - Dan Fortier (Embassy Suites Saratoga Springs), Chair Elect – Thomas Newkirk (Saratoga National Golf Course), Treasurer – Shawn Goodway (The Saratoga Hilton) & At-Large Officer – Steve Wilcox, (Fingerpaint Marketing).

Leslie Thornton

SmithBucklin announced the promotion of Leslie Thornton to vice president, Outsourced Services. Thornton will continue to serve as president of Courtesy Associates, a wholly owned subsidiary of SmithBucklin that plans and manages conferences and special events.

Bradley Douglas Doell has been named director of sales & marketing for the Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu’s North Shore.

Heidi Bergos

Hotel Irvine in California named Heidi Bergos director of sales and marketing. Most recently, Bergos was director of sales and marketing for Laguna Cliffs Resort & Spa.

Melissa Brown

L.E. Hotels appointed Melissa Brown director of sales for North America.

Michael Duve

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel appointed Michael Duve group sales account director.

Lynne Lulfs

Montauk Yacht Club Resort & Marina named Lynne Lulfs director of sales and marketing. Most recently, Lulfs held was regional director of catering and special events for six national restaurants the Rosa Mexicano brand.

Christopher Shiel

Christopher Shiel was appointed director of sales and marketing at Smyth, a Thompson Hotel in New York. Previously, Shiel was director of sales at Denihan Hospitality Group.
