The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) has named the MCI Group’s Andrea Irani as the new Managing Director of HSMAI United Arab Emirates (UAE). Irani has more than 25 years of experience in hospitality, media events planning and conference management, and, through her role as Account Manager for MCI Middle East’s Association Management and Consultancy division, has access to the latest global practices in association growth strategies and product development.
Luis Palacios Larrañaga
The Los Cabos Tourism Board is bringing in an executive with formidable experience as its new commercial director-chief commercial officer, naming Luis Palacios Larrañaga to the position. He replaces Eduardo Segura.

The Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau today announced the addition of Walden Agustin Sr. to the organization as Senior National Accounts Director. In this role, Agustin will generate tentative and definite business from the Midwest and Southeast market, with responsibility for mid-size and city wide groups.
With Trudy Rautio retiring as Carlson’s CEO, the board announced the creation of a new management structure featuring separate CEOs for the company’s hospitality and travel divisions. David Berg, Carlson’s chief operating officer, will become chief executive of the hotel group, to be called Carlson Hospitality, with responsibilities as well for the Carlson corporate center. Doug Anderson will continue to head the Carlson Wagonlit operation at its Paris headquarters, as he has done since 2008. Both executives will report directly to the board. The management changes are effective May 1.

The Prague Convention Bureau has appointed Lenka Jarošová to be its new Executive Director. Jarošová majored in Travel and Tourism Management at the University of Jan Amos Komensky in Prague. She has industry experience in Sales and MICE from her previous position of Corporate & MICE Sales Manager at Clarion Congress Hotel Prague. She also worked as Business Development Manager in the ZIBA project and Sales Manager at B&B Hotel Prague-City.

Michael Massari, senior vice president of national meetings and events for Caesars Entertainment, has been named treasurer for the U.S. Travel Association, a position elected by the association's board of directors, of which Massari is a member.
Choose Chicago announced the appointment of PCMA Member Marc Anderson to Chief Sales Officer and Senior Vice President. Marc is a 23-year veteran of the visitor industry, and most recently served as Regional Director of Marketing, The Peninsula Hotels. In this role, Anderson leads a 39-person team consisting of Sales & Services, Special Events and Tourism Sales. As Chief Sales Officer, a newly created position, he will leverage a comprehensive integrated sales plan to increase business and leisure visitation to Chicago.

He will also continue to facilitate and manage both the Leadership Institute and the Leadership Learning Forum, two intensive, high-impact programs he created. Effective Jan. 1, 2016, SmithBucklin Executive Vice President Matt Sanderson will be appointed President and CEO of the company.
