Andrea Irani

The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) has named the MCI Group’s Andrea Irani as the new Managing Director of HSMAI United Arab Emirates (UAE). Irani has more than 25 years of experience in hospitality, media events planning and conference management, and, through her role as Account Manager for MCI Middle East’s Association Management and Consultancy division, has access to the latest global practices in association growth strategies and product development.

Luis Palacios Larrañaga

The Los Cabos Tourism Board is bringing in an executive with formidable experience as its new commercial director-chief commercial officer, naming Luis Palacios Larrañaga to the position. He replaces Eduardo Segura. 

Justin Ely

Justin Ely was named director of sales at La Quinta Resort & Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort. Most recently, Ely was director of group sales at the Fairmont Newport Beach.

David Pulford

Fern announced that David Pulford, a 25-year veteran of the live event industry, has joined its staff as General Manager of the Kansas City branch.

Cataline Green

The Resort at Pedregal appointed Cataline Green director of sales and marketing. Most recently, Green was director of sales and marketing at The Standard, Downtown LA.

Sam McDiarmid

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts named Sam McDiarmid director of business development, agency sales. Previously, McDiarmid was travel industry sales manager at the Plaza Hotel in New York.

Linly Heng

Linly Heng has been appointed director of sales & marketing for Le Royal Méridien Shanghai and Starwood‘s area director of sales & marketing for east China, with responsibility for 40 hotels.

Maridol Ortiz-Perez

Occidental Hotels & Resorts appointed Maridol Ortiz-Perez director of group sales, meeting and incentives for the U.S. Most recently, Ortiz-Perez was director of group sales at Casa de Campo.

Walden Agustin Sr.

The Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau today announced the addition of Walden Agustin Sr. to the organization as Senior National Accounts Director. In this role, Agustin will generate tentative and definite business from the Midwest and Southeast market, with responsibility for mid-size and city wide groups.

David Berg

With Trudy Rautio retiring as Carlson’s CEO, the board announced the creation of a new management structure featuring separate CEOs for the company’s hospitality and travel divisions. David Berg, Carlson’s chief operating officer, will become chief executive of the hotel group, to be called Carlson Hospitality, with responsibilities as well for the Carlson corporate center. Doug Anderson will continue to head the Carlson Wagonlit operation at its Paris headquarters, as he has done since 2008. Both executives will report directly to the board. The management changes are effective May 1.

Miami Air International appoints veteran charter professional Jennifer Cook to Director of Sales.

Kristen Jordan-Wood

HRI Lodging named Kristen Jordan-Wood vice president of sales and marketing. Most recently, Jordan-Wood was vice president of sales and marketing for MetWest Terra Hospitality.

Jennifer Pacheco, CEM

Staff pro announced the addition of Jennifer Pacheco, CEM as Director of Business Development for the Staff Pro team.

Lenka Jarošová

The Prague Convention Bureau has appointed Lenka Jarošová to be its new Executive Director. Jarošová majored in Travel and Tourism Management at the University of Jan Amos Komensky in Prague. She has industry experience in Sales and MICE from her previous position of Corporate & MICE Sales Manager at Clarion Congress Hotel Prague. She also worked as Business Development Manager in the ZIBA project and Sales Manager at B&B Hotel Prague-City.

Rex Loh

Rex Loh was promoted to area director of sales and marketing for IHG Singapore. Loh joined IHG Singapore as director of sales and marketing in December 2013.

Cliff Reis, Robb Clawson

Hargrove, Inc., announced that it has named two new leaders on the director level. Cliff Reis joins Hargrove as the Director of Exhibitor Services, and Robb Clawson joins as the Director of Marketing and Communications. 

Barbara Dunlavey

Women In Defense (WID), A National Security Organization, today announced that Barbara Dunlavey CMP, CAE has been named to the new position of Executive Director, effective March 9, 2015. She will be responsible for the management of business operations for an organization that supports 19 chapters and over 3,600 individual members representing industry, academia, military and government.

Michael Massari

Michael Massari, senior vice president of national meetings and events for Caesars Entertainment, has been named treasurer for the U.S. Travel Association, a position elected by the association's board of directors, of which Massari is a member. 

Marc Anderson

Choose Chicago announced the appointment of PCMA Member Marc Anderson to Chief Sales Officer and Senior Vice President. Marc is a 23-year veteran of the visitor industry, and most recently served as Regional Director of Marketing, The Peninsula Hotels. In this role, Anderson leads a 39-person team consisting of Sales & Services, Special Events and Tourism Sales. As Chief Sales Officer, a newly created position, he will leverage a comprehensive integrated sales plan to increase business and leisure visitation to Chicago.

The Department of Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM) at the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts Amherst announces that James J. Murren, Chairman and CEO of MGM Resorts International, will receive the Distinguished Leader Award and Robert McCarthy, President and COO of Chartwell Hotels, will receive The Stephen Elmont Award at the 2015 HTM Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, April 16 at the Boston Harbor Hotel.

Laurel Kennedy has been appointed Director of Sales at the Hyatt Place Pittsburgh South/Meadows Racetrack & Casino, which is scheduled to open April 15, 2015.

Kaleena James

Visit KC, Kansas City’s tourism and hospitality organization, announced the recent addition of Kaleena James as destination services manager. A Kansas City native, Kaleena brings more than 10 years of event management experience to Visit KC.

Dominik Trimborn

Dominik Trimborn was named director of sales and marketing of the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers in Bangkok.

Mark Calibo

Playa Largo Resort & Spa appointed Mark Calibo as its director of sales & marketing.  As a seasoned hotel industry professional, Calibo brings extensive senior management experience to the first new resort to be built in Key Largo in more than 20 years, opening in December 2015.

Beth Price

Visit Vancouver USA announces the addition of Beth Price to the office's business development department. She will work with meeting planners and association executives to help bring meetings and conventions to Vancouver.Prior, Price worked as corporate sales manager for Embassy Suites at Washington Square. She has also worked in sales, catering and conference service roles at Hotel Fifty, Hotel Vintage Plaza and Hotel Monaco.

Bradley Doell

Turtle Bay Resort in Hawaii appointed Bradley Doell director of sales and marketing. Most recently, Doell was director of sales and marketing at the Hilton Orange County in Costa Mesa, California.

Douglas Miller

The Greenbriar appointed Douglas Miller director of sales, marketing and promotions. Miller is the former executive director of communications for the New Orleans Saints.

Michael Woody

Meeting Professionals International (MPI) has announced the selection of industry veteran Michael Woody as its new chief operations officer (COO). In this role, Woody will lead the daily operations and marketing efforts of the association, ensuring the delivery of community-wide member value and brand consistency.

Tony Dixon

Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC welcomes Tony Dixon as Director of Events. Dixon started his career working for casinos and night clubs in Atlantic City and later joined The Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia in December and dedicated 13 years of service to several Ritz-Carlton properties, including Amelia Island, Atlanta, Orlando, and Washington, DC.

Henry Givray

SmithBucklin has announced that Henry Givray will transition out of his role as President and CEO on Dec. 31, 2015. Though Givray will continue to be Chairman of the SmithBucklin Board of Directors, it will be in a non-executive role. He will also continue to facilitate and manage both the Leadership Institute and the Leadership Learning Forum, two intensive, high-impact programs he created. Effective Jan. 1, 2016, SmithBucklin Executive Vice President Matt Sanderson will be appointed President and CEO of the company. Sanderson currently serves as chief executive of the SmithBucklin Business + Trade Industry Practice, the largest of three in the company.

Susan Salem Euritt 

Susan Salem Euritt is Garrett Popcorn’s new Vice President Direct Sales and Business Development. Previous to Garrett Popcorn Salem Euritt held business development positions with Freeman, PCMA, Choose Chicago and several major hotel brands.

Amanda Wrathall 

Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) has appointed Amanda Wrathall as sales and marketing head. Wrathall is the first senior team appointment for new chief executive, Marshall Dallas.

Leandro Cruz

Casa de Campo resort in the Dominican Republic has announced the appointment of Leandro Cruz as its Vice President of Sales. Cruz will be responsible for overseeing local and international sales at Casa de Campo.

Jeremy Shaw Wright 

HPN Global has announced the hiring of meeting executive Jeremy Shaw Wright as Vice President, Global Accounts in Atlanta, GA. Prior to joining HPNG Jeremy spent the last four years at the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta as senior corporate sales manager.

André Jacques 

André Jacques was appointed director of sales and marketing at The Langham, Melbourne. 

Nick Pilbeam

Reed Exhibitions appointed Nick Pilbeam to the position of divisional director – Travel including the International Luxury Travel Market portfolio, World Travel Market portfolio and the newly branded ibtm events portfolio of global and regional events providing business solutions on five continents.

Dante Angelucci, Jr.

The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority hired Dante Angelucci, Jr. as the authority’s new deputy director of development and construction.  In his role, Angelucci will be responsible for leading and overseeing the 1.3 million-square-foot expansion of the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center and related projects, including the development of two new parking garages.
