Breaking News! Student Scholarship Awards Increase

Greater Midwest Chapter
The Greater Midwest Chapter announced our new GMC PCMA Student Scholarships in November. The GMC Executive Committee has just approved increasing the amount of each scholarship from $2,500 to $5,000. These individual scholarships will be awarded to student members of GMC PCMA who major in hospitality.

Recipients will each obtain a $5,000 tuition-based scholarship for the 2014-2015 academic year. Funds are distributed directly to the student’s college or university.

The scholarship committee will select and award the two student scholarships at our Annual Awards Luncheon on Feb. 4.

If you know of any hospitality students who might be interested, please contact Bill Martin, Chair of the Student Membership Committee, or Hilary Rosenthal, Chair, Student Scholarship Committee.

GMC strongly believes that investing in our student members will not only enhance their involvement in our local chapter, but create future leaders in the years to come.

More for students:

  • Student members are encouraged to join the new GMC PCMA Students LinkedIn page for resources and discussions pertinent to career planning.

  • Student members can attend the GMC Chapter Reception at Convening Leaders on Sunday, Jan. 11 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. The fun networking opportunity will take place at Untitled at 111 W. Kinzie in Chicago. Untitled is a nightclub that takes after the Prohibition-era speakeasies - meaning low profile, low light, cocktails and secret entrances. Learn more and register.
