The Consumer Electronics Association named Denise Medved vice president of sales and business development for the International CES and International CES Asia. Medved previously ran Tiny Kitchen Inc., where she served as president and CEO since its establishment in 2005. Tiny Kitchen ran shows such as the MetroCooking DC’s Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show. Medved also held senior management positions at Reed Exhibition Companies, IDG World Expo, and National Trade Productions.

Barry S. Sternlicht, chairman of the board and CEO and founder of Starwood Capital Group and founder of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, will receive the 2015 Cornell Icon of the Industry Award for his contributions to the hospitality industry, real estate markets, and the global business community, as well as his philanthropic impact, at the 7th annual Cornell Hospitality Icon & Innovator Awards.
Loews Hotels & Resorts, New York City, has appointed Jim Cone senior vice president of marketing. Cone most recently was vice president, global customer promotions, at Hilton Worldwide.
Peter Foster has been appointed vice president, sales, at Onyx Hospitality Group in Bangkok. Previously, Foster was area director of sales and marketing for InterContinental Festival City Dubai.
Team San Jose recently hired sales manager Paul Sprinkmann to drive sales efforts for the busy California corporate and association market segments. He will be responsible for booking California-based meeting groups of 200 room nights or less, with a special focus on the Bay Area and Northern California.
Display Group, a leading custom display and event rental and services company, has hired Michael Miner as chief sales officer. The company has posted 15-20 percent growth for the past several years, and is expanding their presence in the vibrant metro-Detroit marketplace. Miner brings 22 years of rental industry experience, and assisted in growing Classic Party Rentals from a regional operation to a 35-store national footprint.
