D. Bradley Kent has been named Sr. VP for Dallas CVB. Kent will begin his role as Vice President of Sales & Services/Chief Sales Officer Nov. 1. He most recently served as Sr. Vice President of Sales & Services for Choose Chicago.

Deidre Irwin Ross

Deidre Irwin Ross, MHA, CMP, CAE has been named the Director of Conventions and Meeting Planning at the American Veterinary Medical Association

Paul Bashaw

Benchmark Hospitality International, The Woodlands, Texas, has appointed Paul Bashaw corporate director of global sales. Bashaw was most recently director of sales for Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Vincent de Croock

De L’Europe in Amsterdam has appointed Vincent de Croock director of sales and marketing. Previously, de Croock was director of sales and marketing for Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort in Costa Rica.

Toni Stoeckl

Marriott International has appointment Toni Stoeckl as Vice President of Lifestyle Brands including global responsibility for Renaissance Hotels, AC Hotels by Marriott and Moxy Hotels. Toni previously served as vice president for the Renaissance Hotels brand. In his newly expanded role, Toni’s leadership will drive, define and execute global brand strategies and signature programming for more than 225 hotels around the world.

Peter Berry

ACC Liverpool has appointed a US market representative, Peter J Berry, as part of its strategy to bring additional international and North American-based congresses to the UK city. Working alongside ACC Liverpool’s international team, his role will include targeting North American and global associations, with US-based members, which have the potential to hold their meetings in Liverpool.

Ozgul Ozkan Yavuz

Ozgul Ozkan Yavuz has been appointed general manager of the Istanbul Convention and Visitors Bureau (ICVB), after a unanimous election by the organization’s board of directors. Yavuz previously worked as the deputy director for the Istanbul Office of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. She also served as director of tourism and promotion for the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Programme. She has 18 years of experience with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in Istanbul, Ankara and several locations around the world.

Westin Snowmass Overhauls Executive Team

David Wasserman, principal of the group that owns the Westin/Wildwood complex on the Snowmass Village Mall, declined to comment on whether Starwood Hotels & Resorts would continue to manage the property, although many of that company’s executive staff members on site are being replaced. The hotel will continue to operate under the Westin brand.

Laurence Richardson

Meliá Orlando Suite Hotel located at Celebration has appointed Laurence Richardson director of sales and marketing. Richardson most recently was director of sales and marketing of Hilton Miami Downtown.

Charles Jeffers II

Charles Jeffers has been tapped as COO for DMAI. Jeffers currently serves as Sr. Vice President of Operations and Executive Director for East Point, Sales & Marketing for the Atlanta CVB. He starts in his new position on Nov. 1.

Alan Doyle

Alan Doyle has been promoted Vice President of Global Sales, Meetings and Incentives for Palace Resorts’ eight oceanfront resort properties in Cancun, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres and Riviera Maya, Mexico, as well as the soon-to-open Moon Palace Jamaica Grande in Ocho Rios. Doyle was previously Corporate Director of Sales for the meetings, incentives, conventions and events (M.I.C.E.) segment of Palace Resorts.

Kirsten Olean

American Society for Microbiology announced Kirsten Olean, CMP, CAE, IOM, will be joining the organization on October 6, as Director of Meetings. Olean was previously with Association of American Medical Colleges as Director of Meetings. Olean is a seasoned association director with expertise in meeting and operational management. She has experience managing budgets in excess of $3 million and a proven track record of on-target income and expenses.

Kristin McGrath

Richmond Region Tourism is pleased to welcome Kristin McGrath as the new Vice President of Sales and Services. McGrath comes to Richmond Region Tourism from the Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau where she has worked since 2005, most recently serving as Vice President of Sales and Services. During her tenure at the Providence Warwick CVB, she also held the roles of National Sales Manager and Director of Sales.

Global Experience Specialist Adds to Team

GES has grown its U.S. AV team with the addition of 10 seasoned professionals - Welcoming Ron Cervantes, Casey Cowan, Jeff Marker, Robert Smith, Robert Stover and Randy Will, located in GES’ Irving, Texas, client care center. Asa Crenshaw, Tracey Morrissey, CMP, and Ryan Murphy located in GES’ Chicago client care center, and Shannon Delaney is located in GES’ New Orleans client care center

Vicky Betzig

The Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau recently hired industry veteran, Vicky Betzig, CMP as Senior Manager, Client Services reporting directly to Colleen Cornett, Director of Client Services & Housing. Joining AOCVCB from the Professional Convention Management Association, Vicky was brought on-board to lead the Client Services team as well as build and deploy sustainable business solutions to elevate our customer experience.

Jeff Johnson

Jeff Johnson is joining The Broadmoor as vice president of marketing & sales. Johnson will oversee all marketing and sales efforts for The Broadmoor, and The Broadmoor’s growing Wilderness Experience portfolio, including The Ranch at Emerald Valley, Cloud Camp, and soon, Fishing Camp, a private fly fishing property and Seven Falls, a historic landmark attraction, both opening in the spring of 2015. Johnson experience includes 13 years as the vice president of sales & marketing at the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, directing the pre-opening sales, marketing, and launch strategy for the resort and five years as the vice president of marketing for The ITT Luxury Collection.

Paul Bugeja

The Malta Tourism Authority Board appointed Paul Bugeja as new Chief Executive Officer of Malta Tourism Authority effective immediately. Bugeja will succeed outgoing CEO, Mr Josef Formosa Gauci.  Prior to his appointment as CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority, Bugeja held several senior posts at Corinthia Hotels, most recently, as CFO for the Hotels Operating Divisions  and Group Monitoring Board Director. He also served this past year as President of the Malta Hotel & Restaurant Association.

Sandie Dawe

The former CEO of VisitBritain, Sandie Dawe, MBE, has been appointed as a board member of London & Partners, the Mayor’s official promotional company for the city. Dawe, who was at VisitBritain for 23 years, brings with her a wealth of experience in the tourism sector.  She was appointed CEO at VisitBritain in 2009 and during her tenure tourism across the UK experienced a significant increase with a record 33 million visitors in 2013 and a 13% increase in tourism spend.

Kara Stanley

The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau has announced the addition of, Kara Stanley, as the new Group Sales Specialist.  Ms. Stanley previously worked for Hyatt for 6 years in various operational management and sales support roles at properties in Houston, Pittsburgh, New York City, and the Chesapeake Bay area.

Tim Hart

The Knowland Group has appointed Tim Hart Chief Executive Officer and member of the board of directors beginning on October 1st, 2014. Hart is succeeding the leadership of Founder Michael K. McKean under whose guidance the company saw remarkable expansion. Mr. McKean remains with the company as an investor and board member.

Heather M. Seasholtz

Talley Management Group has added Heather Seasholtz to their team as Director, Meetings and Events. Seasholtz was previously the Associate Director, Meetings and Exhibits at the American Association for Cancer Research.

Cheryl Ong Su Lyn

Raffles Hotel Singapore has appointed Cheryl Ong Su Lyn director of sales and marketing. Lyn was previously director of sales and marketing and director of marketing communications for St. Regis Singapore.

John Sharkey

SMG announced that John Sharkey will become Executive Vice President, European Operations, effective 6th October 2014. He will assume responsibility for SMG’s existing business operations in Europe as well as spearheading the business development ambitions for the Group in Europe and Asia. Sharkey was Group CEO at Scottish Exhibition Centre Ltd until April 2014 and led the team responsible for the development, funding, construction and opening of the SSE Hydro Arena.

Colleen Pace

Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, California, has appointed Colleen Pace director of sales and marketing. Pace most recently was director of sales and marketing at Colorado's Cheyenne Mountain Resort.

Richard Osicka

ProExhibits announced the addition of Richard Osicka as Director of Sales. Osicka will focus on business development, leading a team dedicated to identifying, developing and enhancing key client relationships in Northern California.

James Brown

A new executive director has been named at the newly renamed Joseph Floreano Riverside Convention Center in Rochester, NY. James Brown succeeds Joe Floreano. Floreano died recently after his battle with cancer. Brown served as interim executive director during Floreano’s illness.

Colette Fairchild

Colette Fairchild, CEM, CMP, has joined the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) as director of meetings and exhibits. Her duties include the planning, organization, and execution of events, including the AGD’s annual meeting and other educational events. Before coming to the AGD, Fairchild spent 11 years as tradeshow director for H.H. Backer Associates Inc. Earlier in her career, she owned a meeting planning company that served multiple medical industry clients.

Zachary Felter

Zachary Felter has been named director of sales and marketing for 1 Hotel & Homes South Beach, Miami. Felter previously was director of sales at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel.

Debbie Parrott

Highmark TechSystems announced that Debbie Parrott has been named president of the company. Debbie brings to Highmark 20 years of marketing and business development success in exhibits and events, e-commerce, and internet marketing across a range of industries.

Mike Reich

The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa, South Carolina, has appointed Mike Reich director of group sales. Previously, Reich was regional director of sales and marketing for The Westin Baltimore Washington Airport and Sheraton Baltimore Washington Airport Hotel.

Jennifer Rutkowski

Jennifer Rutkowski has been named area director of sales and marketing for Baccarat Hotels & Resorts, 1 Hotel Central Park and 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge Park. Rutkowski most recently was vice president, sales and marketing, for The London Hotels’ hotels and restaurants in New York and Los Angeles.

Caitlin Davis

The Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau has hired Caitlin Davis as an Account Executive to work on securing convention, meeting and event business for the city in multiple market segments. Davis previously served as a conference coordinator for Western Illinois University.
