Exercise Your Right to Vote!

Tamela Blalock
Election day is November 4. Have you registered to vote?

Voting is one of your fundamental rights as a citizen and it is doubly important as a citizen of the meetings industry as many laws directly affect your livelihood. Legislation such as the JOLT Act would ease visa restrictions and increase international travel to your meetings.

Early voting has started in the DMV area and we want you to get out and vote!  If you have not registered to vote. The voter registration deadline for the District of Columbia is October 6, while the deadline for Maryland and Virginia is October 14. Please visit our link for easy instructions on how to register to vote.

To help motivate you, we are conducting a Facebook contest every week, starting October 6 and right up to Election Day. Each week, starting on Monday and ending on Friday, the first person to post on the PCMA Capital Chapter’s Facebook page a picture of their “I voted sticker,” absentee ballot or a “selfie” of yourself at your polling place will receive a Starbucks Card for $10.  You must also tag yourself in the picture!

Now go out and vote!
