Ozgul Ozkan Yavuz
Ozgul Ozkan Yavuz has been appointed general manager of the Istanbul Convention and Visitors Bureau (ICVB), after a unanimous election by the organization’s board of directors. Yavuz previously worked as the deputy director for the Istanbul Office of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. She also served as director of tourism and promotion for the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Programme. She has 18 years of experience with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in Istanbul, Ankara and several locations around the world.
Westin Snowmass Overhauls Executive Team
David Wasserman, principal of the group that owns the Westin/Wildwood complex on the Snowmass Village Mall, declined to comment on whether Starwood Hotels & Resorts would continue to manage the property, although many of that company’s executive staff members on site are being replaced. The hotel will continue to operate under the Westin brand.
Meliá Orlando Suite Hotel located at Celebration has appointed Laurence Richardson director of sales and marketing. Richardson most recently was director of sales and marketing of Hilton Miami Downtown.
Charles Jeffers II
Charles Jeffers has been tapped as COO for DMAI. Jeffers currently serves as Sr. Vice President of Operations and Executive Director for East Point, Sales & Marketing for the Atlanta CVB. He starts in his new position on Nov. 1.
Alan Doyle has been promoted Vice President of Global Sales, Meetings and Incentives for Palace Resorts’ eight oceanfront resort properties in Cancun, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres and Riviera Maya, Mexico, as well as the soon-to-open Moon Palace Jamaica Grande in Ocho Rios. Doyle was previously Corporate Director of Sales for the meetings, incentives, conventions and events (M.I.C.E.) segment of Palace Resorts.
Marshall Dallas has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
