Convene's 2014 Salary Survey

By Michelle Russell

The good news: More meeting professionals received a raise this year than last year. Unfortunately, the bump in pay was nearly two-thirds smaller than the average increase in 2013.

Seventy-seven percent of the meeting professionals who responded to Convene's 2014 Salary Survey received a an increase in pay in the last 12 months  — only 3 percent of respondents said that their pay had dropped in that period. The vast majority of respondents — 88 percent — have earned their CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) and our survey showed again this year that it makes a big difference. The average salary for those with a CMP was $81,515, compared to $71,042 for those without a CMP.
