The Community Services Committee had the winning recipe for the May 8 Coffee Club at Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly. Approximately 20 Greater Midwest Chapter members participated in the event at the Little Brothers’ Chicago Chapter building.
The Coffee Club is a free event offering food, conversation, and fun to the elderly who attend. The Community Services Committee used a fiesta theme for the event, complete with mariachis.
Our 2014 charity is very appreciative of our efforts, as evidenced by the note below from Cecilia Straney, Chief Development Officer for Little Brothers:
“Thank you so much for the wonderful event today. Our elders LOVED it. I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews. Everyone had a great time and I can prove it! Take a look at our photo gallery.
It was such a pleasure to work with your group. Your members really went the extra mile. The room looked fabulous, the food was amazing, the entertainment was wonderful, and, most important, your members really made the effort to talk with our seniors. Your members jumped right in to the spirit of coffee club. I know some elders made some new friends today!
Thanks so much! I can’t wait to do more together over the coming year.”
Stay tuned for future opportunities to join your fellow PCMA members and help Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly.
