Association Forum of Chicagoland’s Board of Directors announced today that Christie A. Tarantino, FASAE, CAE, has resigned as president and Chief Executive Officer, effective April 15, 2014. Tarantino will join the Chicago-based Institute of Food Technologists, an organization dedicated to advancing the science of food to ensure a safe and abundant food supply, as its executive vice president.
Since joining the Association Forum as its president and CEO in January 2009, Tarantino achieved many significant accomplishments, including: a 42 percent increase in membership, the design and implementation of a new infrastructure to elevate strategic data capture and reporting, and a significant strengthening of the organization’s relationships with the supplier partner community. Tarantino also made great strides in establishing a culture that’s focused on the strategic review of Association Forum’s ability to effectively serve members now and in the future.
“Association Forum will continue its strategic focus on meeting and exceeding our members’ needs, diversifying our revenue streams, and elevating the professional practice of association management,” stated Evan Williams, CAE, IOM, chair of Association Forum’s Board of Directors. “We are very grateful for Christie’s leadership over the past five years. She has been instrumental in building a team that’s very committed to and highly capable of fulfilling Association Forum’s mission.”
“Association Forum has been an absolutely wonderful place to work,” Tarantino said. “I have truly enjoyed my time working and collaborating with a dedicated staff of talented professionals, a committed volunteer leadership team, and very supportive and enthusiastic members. As I embark on this new endeavor, I’m fortunate to have the opportunity to remain close to Association Forum as an active member.”
Association Forum’s Board of Directors has begun the process of selecting an executive search firm to identify Tarantino’s successor. It is anticipated that the firm will be identified and the process officially started by the end of March. All inquiries should be deferred until a search firm is confirmed and the position is posted.
