CHICAGO, Illinois, September 5, 2013– The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) was recently selected by the Jordan Tourism Development II Project to provide training and guidance to over 30 meetings industry professionals to help them prepare for the Convention Industry Council’s (CIC) Certified Meetings Professional (CMP) exam.
Jordan’s National Tourism Strategy believes the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions sector is a major business opportunity for the country and region and thus, aims to advance its ability to facilitate, service and attract international business. Sherrif Karamat, Chief Operating Office, PCMA expressed his excitement about the selection.

PCMA provided a two-day face-to-face training August 25 – 26, 2013 in Amman, Jordan to help participants prepare for the CMP exam. The training covered what to expect on the CMP exam, how best to answer the questions and study for the exam. PCMA will also provide online training in the form of its CMP Online Prep Course.

CMP certification for local operators will cement Jordan’s capacity to host meetings and conventions and thus help the sector grow this lucrative market. This opportunity allowed PCMA to showcase its training and education materials to a new audience.
