MGM Resorts International has a new CEO of hospitality. Promoted from executive vice president of global development, Michael Evans is now in charge of developing and operating resorts under the brands Bellagio, MGM Grand and Skylofts.
Meetings management consultant Debi Scholar joined American Express Meetings & Events as director of managed meeting strategy, according to the company. Founder of the Scholar Consulting Group and formerly director of meeting and event services at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Scholar reports to vice president of business development Milton Rivera.

Tiffany Waddell has been appointed National Sales Manager. Waddell is responsible for building Brand USA's national sales team, leveraging partnerships with domestic stakeholders to attract increased private-sector funding and promoting the United States as a premier global tourism destination
Camila Clark has been hired as the Director Marketing Communications. Clark is responsible for establishing and enhancing strong relationships with key stakeholders, including industry groups, partners, and industry leaders by designing and executing public relations and communications strategies, programs, and materials to support partnership initiatives, business-to-business marketing outreach, and other efforts that advance the mission of Brand USA.
Villa La Estancia, in Los Cabos, has hired Jorge Villarreal as Director of Sales & Marketing. Villarreal has held previously the position of Director of Sales & Marketing at various resorts including Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach in Cancun and One & Only Palmilla in Los Cabos.
Laura Nichols, who has more than 15 years of experience in meeting and event sales within the hospitality industry will be the sales manager for in-house events. Nichols' leadership roles include directing sales at venues such as the Sheraton, DoubleTree and Marriott hotels.

Morial Convention Center (MCCNO) Sales Manager Kelly Buchler Johnson has earned the Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP) designation through the Society of Government Meeting Professionals. This certification is designed for planners and suppliers whose work is governed by the rules and regulations of the federal government. It is the highest designation available that is specifically for government meeting professionals.
