Meetings with a slice of sun and fun

Plenty of square feet, sun, and Southern hospitality are the staples of meetings at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. With more than 250,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, the facility is one of the Southeast's most popular destinations for association, corporate, and government meetings as well as trade shows, faith-based conferences, and sporting tournaments. It also doesn't hurt that the center is in one of the country's most famous beach destinations, with 60 miles of beaches, a 1.2-mile boardwalk, 102 golf courses, 300 outlet shops, and 1,700 restaurants — and that's just the beginning.

Beyond the surplus of meeting space, the center's cutting-edge technology, dedicated IT department, exceptional culinary team, and professional staff cater to planners’ every need. The center's largest space — the 100,800-square-foot, column-free exhibit hall — is divisible into three sections. The hall's 35-foot ceilings, 11 docks, and drive-in access ensure that every event moves in and out on time and on budget. Hall C's telescopic seating for more than 2,500 people also makes the space ideal for general sessions and large assemblies.

Whatever the agenda, the center's flexible ballroom space breaks the mold of the typical, boring ballroom. Elegant banquets for up to 1,000 guests are a snap to organize in the 16,890-square-foot Grand Ballroom, which can be divided to accommodate five meetings simultaneously. For the ultimate in flexible breakout space, the center's 17 meeting rooms can be increased or decreased in size with the use of air walls. For classroom-style meetings, the rooms can accommodate up to 150 attendees, and a theater-style setup can hold up to 200 attendees.

The convention center's popular Hall of Fame area creates a stunning backdrop for intimate receptions, especially at sunset, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and high ceilings, while the Events Plaza is the perfect place to enjoy a warm ocean breeze. The 30,000-square-foot plaza is appropriate for receptions, oyster roasts, barbecues, and other outdoor activities, as well as press conferences, small concerts, and other types of celebrations.

This seaside convention center offers not only functional meeting space but an array of on-site support services and staff for the most high-tech of meetings. In addition to providing on-call customer service for every show, the center's exhibit halls, ballrooms and prefunction areas are wired with a secure, fiber-optic “backbone” that provides Wi-Fi throughout the facility. And exhibitors will appreciate that water, electricity, cable, and telecommunications access are available every 30 feet inside the center's exhibit hall.

Attendees will love the 400-room Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center Hotel, conveniently attached to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Not only does the hotel offer recently renovated guest rooms, the property is also the center's exclusive F&B provider, with the capability to whip up anything from creative hors d'oeuvres to show-stopping seven-course dinners for 1,000 guests. When the meeting concludes, attendees can unwind in the city's entertainment district at Broadway at the Beach, a vast complex of attractions, nightlife, restaurants, and shopping, just a few blocks away from the center.
