Enchanting, yet cost-efficient

According to the Maya, 2012 will bring the beginning of a new era. Now is the time for groups to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime celebration of rebirth and renewal. A meeting or convention in Cancun this year will be so much more than just a successful event - it’s an opportunity for a group to re-engage, reconnect, rediscover, and achieve greater goals.

Cancun’s combination of activities and infrastructure, including more than one million square feet of collective meeting space, makes it the top destination for meetings and events in not only Mexico but also Latin America and the Caribbean. Groups and tourists come back year after year for its captivating Mayan history, pristine beaches, endless turquoise seas, and balmy weather. Whatever groups have a penchant for - adventure, golf, gastronomy, spas, or shopping - they can find it within Cancun’s array of world-class resorts and attractions, which are famous for their high service standards and attention to even the smallest of details. Best of all, service providers in Cancun are fluent in English and can handle everything from audiovisual to transportation needs. In addition, the Cancun International Airport has been recognized four years in a row by the Airports Council International as the best airport in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Cancun Convention & Visitors Bureau, along with area hotels, DMCs, attractions, and other members of the hospitality community, has committed to preserving Cancun’s natural assets. The CVB has also recently launched a project that gives groups the opportunity to neutralize, and even lower, the environmental footprint of their events. After calculating a meeting’s impact in CO2 tons, groups can then neutralize that impact with the purchase of carbon credits. This program not only benefits local conservation efforts, but also helps to promote the development and protection of local Mayan communities.
