In so many industries, it's not what you know that matters. It's who. The meetings industry is no exception. Meeting planners who want to advance their careers, therefore, should focus first on advancing their networks. Not their social networks, à la Facebook and Twitter. But rather their real, flesh-and-blood Rolodexes.
