Ackert, Allen retiring; Canning becomes convention center GM
Orange County Convention Center Executive Director Tom Ackert and General Manager Jessie Allen will be leaving their roles at the busy center by the end of this year.
Sources confirmed that Allen, who became general manager in 1992, will retire in October. Ackert, who began his tenure in 1991, will leave shortly after in December.
Kathie Canning, deputy general manager for the center, took over the role of general manager on July 1. More

NYC & COMPANY PERSONNEL ANNOUNCEMENT
Alexandra Maiman Goldschmidt has been named Sales Manager, Conference Express for NYC & Company, New York City’s tourism organization, based in New York. In her new role, she will oversee sales efforts for groups of up to 100 rooms on peak from the Northeast, Midwest and Southeast regions of the U.S. Alexandra previously worked for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts over the last five years. She’s a member of PCMA and MPI.
