Chicago, IL, March 27, 2012 - The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) today announced the featured speaker lineup for the June Education Conference. It's a cast of new thinkers, specifically selected to challenge participants with new approaches towards strategic leadership and innovation.

The PCMA Education Conference is a smaller, more intimate gathering of senior industry professionals - designed for idea generation, solution sharing and networking with peers and key industry decision makers. The supporting Monday and Tuesday concurrent sessions and deep-dive labs are tightly focused on leadership principles, business acumen, expense management and revenue generation.
Wednesday's knowledge share guarantees participants will depart the conference with tangible and immediately-usable tools to apply to their meetings.

The PCMA Education Conference will take place June 10-13, 2012 at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter, in San Antonio, Texas. To learn more or register visit pcma.org/educon.

General Session: The Passion of Leadership
Henry S. Givray, President & CEO, SmithBucklin Corporation

Henry Givray believes that leadership is the uniquely consistent and defining force behind great, enduring organizations. But what is leadership? We know when we see it. We can measure its impact. And we can feel how it inspires us. But leadership is an elusive concept for which there are no simple formulas or set rules. Therefore, leadership can't be taught, it must be learned through a process of personal, active engagement and self-discovery.

General Session: Imagining the Convention of 2020
Michael Rogers, Practical Futurist

Eight years ago there was no iPhone or YouTube, Facebook had a thousand members and a 24" LCD television cost $3000. Today we're on the fourth generation of iPhone, YouTube adds 60 hours of video every minute, Facebook has 845 million members and that LCD television costs less than $200. Eight years from now, in 2020, even more will have changed. There are two drivers: rapidly advancing technology, plus a new generation of customers and employees who are increasingly at home in the virtual world. What will conferences and conventions look like in 2020? How will the real and virtual balance, in terms of content, community and profits. Inevitably the winners will be those who understand how best to integrate the real world and the virtual to optimize the value of each.
