How to Design a Flawless Hybrid Event: Lessons Learned From The Feast

May 20, 2014 6:00 PM UTC

Each fall in New York, a boutique hybrid event takes place that pushes the boundaries of every event that’s come before it. The Feast, focused on striving for change and fostering a global community of innovators, combines an educational conference agenda with simultaneous dinners all around the world.

The moving parts for a conference of its size are endless: 15 staff, 35 speakers, 75 volunteers, 600 attendees, and 200 simultaneous dinners around the world.

After six years, the small but mighty staff of The Feast had everything down with one exception: they hadn’t found a streaming video partner that would not only webcast the event to participants far and wide, but also transmit the intimate feel that in-person attendees raved about.

How to pull off a growing hybrid conference with tons of moving parts and minimal staff and the goodwill of volunteers?

Join Alex Steed as he walks you through the steps they took to create a flawless hybrid event, including:

  • What to look for in a streaming partner to take the worry of webcasting off your shoulders
  • How to successfully blend collaborative communities with social media and webcasting
  • Get inspired through their photos, screen shots and anecdotes to introduce new formats, technology and entertainment at your next event
