Convene's 23rd Annual Meetings Market Survey: Small Gains in 2013
By Michelle Russell, Editor in Chief
As the global economy inched back up in 2013, meeting professionals who responded to this year's Meetings Market Survey reported that their events followed suit, faring slightly better than the previous year. And while planner respondents largely expect an even stronger 2014, that optimism, as one survey-taker said, is tempered by nagging realities: “Next year is a bit of a crapshoot. The government turmoil has the potential for far-reaching problems. Organizations will return to a hunker-down-and-weather-the-storm mentality.”
