New expansions and additions raise bar for Orlando meetings.
Rosen Centre continues to raise the bar in guest service, convenience, and value among Orlando convention properties with the announcement of numerous renovations and amenities at the 1,334-room, award-winning convention hotel.
Earlier this year, the hotel began offering free Internet service - both wireless and hardwired - in guest rooms and public areas. Knowing that today’s travelers are even more reliant on their smartphones, iPads/tablets, and laptops for work and play, the hotel implemented the policy so that business and convention guests can work productively and more affordably on their own schedules. Free Internet connectivity is also an attractive incentive for meeting planners, for whom price, value, and amenities are always deciding factors.
In October, Rosen Centre unveiled a new Executive Ballroom that offers 4,000 square feet of prefunction space and 18,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting space. This new addition brings the hotel’s total meeting space to 124,000 square feet, which includes the 35,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom, the 14,375-square-foot Junior Ballroom, two 3,500-square-foot Signature meeting rooms, and 24 individual meeting salons.
Opening in December, the Body & Sol Spa is being rebranded as The Spa at Rosen Centre and will have undergone a major makeover and expansion, bringing its total space to 6,100 square feet. The new spa, salon, and health club will feature a 4,800-square-foot spa with seven treatment suites and a host of salon services, a 1,300-square-foot health club, a gift shop, separate steam rooms for men and women, a range of massage services for men, women, and couples, as well as spa-related activities for groups.
Rosen Centre also recently completed a multimillion-dollar remodel of its guest rooms, including the third of its three 2,500-square-foot Presidential Suites, as well as its 14 two-bay (520 square feet) and three-bay (780 square feet) hospitality suites. The Presidential Suite features a richly appointed personal study outfitted with custom millwork and a full-size desk and bookcase, an installed personal computer, multifunction printer, wired and wireless high-speed Internet access, a full array of Bose home theater and Wave radio products, and multiple Samsung LED/LCD high-definition TVs with multifunction Bluetooth-enabled connectivity panels.
Rosen Centre’s 14 recently refurbished hospitality suites enable executive travelers to host meetings right in their suites with three custom wood-top conference/dining tables that are specifically designed to be used separately or joined together to form one large boardroom/meeting table with seating for 12 in a two-bay suite and up to 24 in a three-bay suite. When the meeting is over, the room can be easily reconfigured into seating for a less formal cocktail gathering.
Last year, the hotel added the 316-foot Rosen Centre Skywalk. This $2-million covered pedestrian connector joins Rosen Centre with the Orange County Convention Center’s West Building, approximately 20 feet above vehicular traffic on Convention Way, providing attendees with a safe, weatherproof, and traffic-free “commute” from guest room to meeting room or restaurant in less than four minutes.
Rosen Centre offers nine on-site dining options, including Everglades restaurant, featuring steaks and seafood; Banshoo Sushi Bar; 98Forty Tapas & Tequila; Smoooth Java Coffee Bar; and 24-hour Red’s Deli.
