New developments equal blockbuster hits for meeting professionals.
Inherently glamorous, Los Angeles is a booming, vibrant city that sets the stage for award-winning meeting and events. With unbeatable beaches, sprawling movie sets, and world-class museums, Los Angeles has no shortage of unique venues. Throw in a world-class transportation network, thriving downtown, easily accessible airports, and more neighborhoods than there are days in a week, and meeting professionals have the complete destination package.
Downtown Los Angeles has experienced a surge of development and revitalization during the past decade, giving meeting professionals even more compelling reasons to consider this vibrant destination. The latest, L.A. LIVE, is a $2.5-billion entertainment and sports complex next door to the Los Angeles Convention Center. L.A. LIVE’s venues are varied and versatile, from the 7,100-seat NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE to the outdoor Target Terrace. The development also includes 1,000 new hotel rooms, comprised of the 54-story JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE and The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles, both of which opened in 2010. Nearby, the Omni Los Angeles Hotel at California Plaza and iconic Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites, Los Angeles both have recently completed multimillion-dollar renovations.
With its celebrity-packed venues, restaurants, and hotels, Hollywood has a sure-fire success rate for memorable events. The stunning Dolby Theatre, home of the Academy Awards, is now the permanent home of Cirque du Soleil’s IRIS, A Journey Through the World of Cinema, and the popular rides and attractions of Universal Studios Hollywood can accommodate events of any size. On Los Angeles’ high-end Westside, multiple luxury hotels are undergoing major facelifts, including the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, and Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills (A Four Seasons Hotel).
